Foldable bamboo toilet stool · Australian designed · 2026

You've optimised everything else in your routine. Except this.

The probiotics and the fibre cover what goes in. This covers how you sit, and it is the easiest variable on the list to test.

The short version

Raising your feet about 18 cm changes the angle your body sits at, and for many people that makes going easier and gentler. It is the one variable most routines never test, and the rest of this page explains why it works, why it fits a routine you have already dialled in, and what to look for in a stool.

1

You did not get the routine wrong. You never tested this part of it

A standard toilet has you sitting at about 90 degrees with your feet flat on the floor. In that position, a muscle around the bowel stays partly closed, so it takes more effort to go. Raise your feet about 18 cm and your knees come up above your hips. The muscle relaxes, the angle opens towards 35 degrees, and there is less to push against.

Feet flat on the floor
90°
The passage stays kinked, so it takes more effort.
Feet raised
35°
The passage straightens, so there is less to push against.

That is all a toilet stool does. It does not add anything to your body, and there is nothing to take or remember.

Gastroenterological Society of Australia Australia's gastroenterologists point the same way. Their constipation handout for patients says to keep your knees bent above the level of your hips, and that a small footstool under your feet may be needed to get the best position.
2

It fits a routine that is already dialled in

If you track your sleep, read the labels and have already tried the probiotics, the fibre and the elimination diets, position is the piece that is easy to miss. You can do everything else right and still be sitting in the position that makes it hardest.

It is also the one change that does not add to the stack. There is no dose to remember, nothing to track and no six weeks of waiting to see if it is doing anything. You put your feet up, and that is it.

  • No pills, powders or protocols
  • Nothing to track or remember
  • Just a better position, every morning

Stop adding to the stack. Fix the one thing underneath it.

What happens when other people try it

In a 2019 trial at Ohio State University, healthy volunteers used a toilet stool for four weeks and reported what they noticed.

Why GoTime: it feels solid under your feet

You put your weight through a stool every morning, so it needs to feel steady. GoTime is solid bamboo with a sturdy, non-slip base, so it stays where you put it and feels steady underfoot.

A stool that feels unsteady stops getting used, and then the better position does nothing for you. This one is built to be stood on every day.

Steady underfoot, foldable when you are done, and ready every morning.

It folds away, and it fits your bathroom

A stool that lives on the bathroom floor gets in the way. GoTime folds, so you can wipe it clean and stand it out of the way once you are done. At about 43 x 28 x 18 cm it is compact.

  • Made to fit standard toilets, rented or owned
  • Ready to use, with no assembly

Made from premium bamboo, not moulded plastic

It is not the plastic stool you would push behind the toilet when guests come over. GoTime is premium bamboo with a natural finish, so it can sit out in a bathroom that already looks considered.

It is made for daily use, so it is one purchase rather than a run of replacements. If that matters to you, it is a real bonus. If it does not, you still have a well-made, steady stool.
